Background
This story picks up just before the failed wedding between Kate and Sonny in September 2008. The wedding has gone through and Kate was shot, but everything else hasn't happened. Sonny targeted the Zaccharas as the culprits instead of Karpov and went after them, hence this story. Everything else on the show up to that has happened. This story picks up in November 2008 and anything that's different will be reflected.
